Update on footbridge to the Millennium Wood

As many Cholsey residents will already know, in February the Parish Council took the decision to close the damaged footbridge across the brook to the Millennium Woods until it can be replaced.

The structure is rotten and we cannot guarantee its safety. It therefore must not be used.

A replacement kit bridge is on order, and we are seeking permission from the Environment Agency to undertake the work.

To be able to install the new bridge and its foundations, the scrub around the site needs to be cleared before 1st March. The Council’s maintenance team will be working on this over the next week or so.
