The footbridge providing a permissive path across the brook to Millennium Woods was closed in January 2023 due to the bridge structure being deemed rotten and unsafe. It has since been further vandalized.
The remaining structure will therefore be dismantled in the week commencing 12th June. This will also help with preparation for the new bridge to be installed.
Because the brook is classified as a river by the Environment Agency, we needed a permit from them to undertake this work. We submitted our application to the Environment Agency on 1st March.
We are currently awaiting their approval so that we can instal a new bridge and reopen the permissive path.
