Community survey: Reading Road (A329) Pedestrian crossing

Cholsey Parish Council has undertaken informal consultation about a proposed plan to construct a controlled pedestrian crossing, slightly North of the A329/Ferry Lane/Papist Way junction.

A community survey regarding the proposed crossing was open for responses from 10am, 3rd November 2025 until 10am, 24th November 2025. Of the 132 respondents, 98% supported the proposed plan to construct a controlled pedestrian crossing at this location. Survey results will determine next steps, including formal consultation by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC). Funds for the crossing have been allocated by OCC.

A plan of the proposed crossing provided by Oxfordshire County Council can be found below. Note, the existing refuge island crossing will remain in place near the Ilges Lane Byway.
